What is the warranty of a used truck?

They essentially guarantee users that their truck will work as expected, and that any unexpected issues with the elements under guarantee will be resolved at no extra cost. For example, warranties may outline specific conditions in which the manufacturer or distributor must make repairs or replace certain truck parts if they fail to perform as intended, including engines, axles and integrated systems. The extent and duration of a warranty’s coverage often depends on the starting condition and age of the vehicle they’re applied to.

Just like with its new vehicles, Renault Trucks offers adapted warranties and service contracts to ensure the reliability of its used trucks. Since 2015, Renault Trucks has offered the trusted driveline warranty to guarantee the conditions of eligible used trucks, and has developed multiple warranty options suited to varying mileage and truck ages.
Beyond this, Renault Trucks proposes shorter-term warranties for a broader range of vehicles, and diverse service packages to optimise the maintenance and performance of used vehicles.
Renault Trucks’ Driveline Warranty
The driveline warranty provides Renault Trucks users with extensive coverage and a wide range of service options to ensure the reliability and performance of our vehicles. From its eligibility requirements to its rigorous inspections and expansive coverage, the offer holds vehicles to the highest standards and promises to preserve them for maximum customer assurance.
Warranty designed for your peace of mind
The condition of each used vehicle is verified, tested and updated before even reaching the market to ensure total confidence from the start. Renault Trucks certifies the origin of your used truck and provides a complete vehicle history, then performs a meticulous 200-point inspection to assess performance. Finally, all Selection vehicles are eligible for the latest software updates to meet modern technology standards.
Beyond the basics, the Selection offer provides a certified OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) warranty which guarantees the use of genuine parts and total coverage of all driveline and EATS functionalities - safeguarding crucial components like the engine, gearboxes, transfer boxes, drive axles, and exhaust after-treatment systems. It also provides vehicles with access to 24/7 emergency roadside assistance and towing services, even when travelling outside of their registered country.
Warranty coverage and eligibility
Driveline coverage can last for a maximum of up to 24 months or 300,000 kms. However, different eligibility rules apply depending on the age and mileage of the vehicle at the beginning of the contract.
A long life option covering one year or 150,000 kms is available for high-age or high-mileage vehicles. Trucks must be less than 84 months old and have fewer than 1,000,000 kms by the end of their 12-month long life contract.
Moreover, all vehicles must be recovered from OEM buy-back contracts or trade-ins from Renault Trucks Truck Centres to be eligible for a driveline warranty, and only certified Used Trucks by Renault Trucks sites can issue driveline warranties.
If not eligible for a driveline warranty, Renault Trucks recommends that all used trucks be guaranteed by at least a 3-month truck warranty.
Used trucks servicing cover
Outside of car warranties, the performing condition of used trucks is often supported by servicing cover packages that maintain vehicle functions, extend their lifespans and contribute to smooth predictable operations. Renault Trucks offers maintenance contracts and services to reinforce quality care in both new and used vehicles.
Start & Drive service contracts
Renault Trucks’ Start & Drive service contracts aim to provide Renault Trucks vehicles with the maintenance and preventative measures necessary to comply with road regulations and manufacturer-recommended care. Ultimately proper servicing contributes to the long-term reliability of your car and is often necessary to respect warranty conditions. Depending on the level of service support desired, Start & Drive packages come in Reference, Performance and Excellence cover, each with its own level of care. While a Reference-level Start & Drive package covers only preventative services, Performance cover also include repairs, and Excellence coverage extends beyond these to include wear parts for the highest level of maintenance.
